Background
A new unique Japanese Garden Themed Cafe has just opened and I am tasked to design its magazine!
DESIGNS
COVER
I chose a simple and clean concept as I do not want to distract readers with too much words and patterns as the emphasis is on the captivating photos to get readers into finding out more about this beautiful place.
On the front cover, I used the image of the front of the Japanese Garden where the Cafe is suited in, to give prospective customers an idea of its spiritual atmosphere.

On the back cover, I put the image of the fountain lake within the Japanese Garden itself where the Cafe is suited in, to tease the prospective customers into looking forward to visiting.

We are accustomed to seeing magazines with fancy words and fonts spattered across the covers which I feel is a bit distracting to the main focus of a magazine: images.
INTERIOR
Now that we have got the reader's curiosity with its exterior design, we will get them interested in what the cafe is about, with some background on the brief history of the cafe and the owner or founder.
Now the readers will now look through at what the cafe has to offer, not only in terms of food and drinks, but a relaxing zen experience of connecting with people and nature.

My objective is to give the prospective customers that spiritual feeling of the cafe atmosphere from the magazine itself with captivating images and aesthetically pleasing design with the right fonts, illustration and image decorating the pages.

The goal is to make the readers feel relaxed reading it and make them feel like they are actually reading a lifestyle magazine and not a newspaper or business magazine, with more words than images.
