Background

Bring Your Own Laptop is an Adobe Authorised Training Centre, specialising in design courses and is launching its first Microsoft Word training course. I am tasked to design a course prospectus!

Keeping in mind the reputation of the training center as more of a design institute with its creative approach to learning, I came out with a contemporary design prospectus which will differentiate itself from other training providers.

I choose a simple black and white theme as I do not want to distract readers with too much colours and abstract. 

 

On the front cover, I used the image of a lap top with a Microsoft Word screen and placed an emphasis on the course title "Words 2020" and "Words" icon to give readers an idea of what it is about with just one look.

​

On the back cover, I put the image of the course instructor and his certifications to give readers an idea of who their lecturer would be and a list of social media accounts for them to check out to know more.

​

We are living in an age where people judge what they see on social media as it gives them the impression that the organization has an interactive platform to communicate directly with customers.

Now that we have got the student's curiosity with its exterior design, we will get them interested in what the course have to offer, by highlighting key information like the course duration and course content.

Self Reflection

Once the students know what they are in for, they will now look through at the reviews and testimonies by previous and existing students, not only about the current course but others offered by the same school as well.

My objective is to give prospective students that the school is modern and

in trend with the current times, showing them that the course will likely be

relevant to the ever-changing landscape of the working world.

​

Rather than giving standard look type of prospectus with no social media

accounts listed, which might give the wrong impression that the school is

behind times and might not be offering what is relevant in today's world.
